Combinatorial and Computational aspects of Tilings

I will attempt to give a short survey of how ideas from algebraic topology can be used in the study of aperiodic order. More precisely, I will discuss the Cech cohomology of the hull of an aperiodic tiling and some its variants. The focus should be fairly divided between the questions of "how" and "why".
